Closures, and Drug Busts, and Suicides, OH MY.

A lot of people wonder why, after the business of Bend RE has finally begun its Great Implosion, why would I or anyone want to remain anonymous? Why not come out of the proverbial closet, and say who I am. Even BendBB? Who is he?

Well, we found out this week. People in Bend take their real estate seriously. Real serious. Dead serious. People around here will KILL when RE deals go South on them.

I don't know who this Jay Audia guy is, but he swooped in on what is now the Mirada parcel, bought it at a pretty good discount, and was going to make low-end laborer shacks. We've talked about this in the past actually. I've actually put pictures of Mirada right here in this blog.

Apparently Mirada, at steep land price discounts, still did not work out. And this Audia guy took it to heart. Too bad. But it illustrates a point. From the comments:

I have to conclude you don't know what your talking about when you're talking about SF. I think it has more to do with your propensity toward creating artificial stereotypes and projecting your bottomless hatred at them. Sorry, but it ain't reality. Personally, I hate SF. But it is quite sound economically. It is an endless fountain of endless 100K + jobs. If you don't make that in SF, you don't even exist or must have no motivation whatsoever. There is so much money there I don't think you can fathom it.

And another:

You're right the Cali-banger isn't a real person. It's a meaningless stereotype used to make you feel better about not taking responsibility for the conditions in your own community.

Hmmm. People have a passion about it. An irrational passion. They'll kill over it. Themselves when necessary.

They'll accuse me of hate crimes of a sort. "Bottomless hatred". Can't even see the forest for the trees anymore. Mention "Cali-Banger", and they go into attack mode, can't even think straight. Buster said what I couldn't:

The cali is a very real person. They can be seen speeding through Bend round-abouts daily. They can be seen by their car, they can be seen by their dress.
...
A cali is a fucking disease, and is a real person. HOMER trys to call the whole USA cali-ism, but cali is really about california, and what it does to people, and the kind of people who leave the east-coast and come to cali, and then migrate north.

Florida has its own breed, and in general the east-coast are all mother fuckers, classic americans, in the sense of complete fucking dog-eat-dog americanism.
I concur with homee that mid-west is the salt of the earth, but that don't mean they'll inherit the earth, history shows the meanest junk-yard always wins.

The bible is full of fucking shit, about the meek inheriting anything.
The law of the jungle is the jungle-law. The USA will continue to rape and pillage the world,, and the citizens of the USA will continue to rape and pillage one another. Cali-ism, or its particular type of consumerism, is of course non-sustainable.

Our current post 1998 cycle, where they could sell the $1M, and come to Bend and buy 1/2M, and live off the other 1/2M is OVER. No more perpetual money machine in Bend. The cali lifestyle and visible wealth will go the way of the do-do, just like visible wealth post-depression.

They are real, they walk the streets here thicker than the indigenous Original Bendites. They are easy to spot. They just have the most severe case of some sort of disease that is creeping across this country.

And it's so subtle, it's hard to catch it anymore. It's ubiquitous. My least favorite commercial is by American Express. It's supposedly narrated by a series of telephone operators who tell these Amex Success Stories. A man buys a diamond ring, but is approached STERNLY and is told, "There's a problem". A couple wants tickets to a show and some Amex phone operator weasels tickets for them. Another is what appears to be a ridiculously expensive restaurant.

It GLORIFIES excess consumption. It's so over the top, it makes me want to gag. But I watched that commercial probably 100X with complete accepting indifference before I realized how horrendous the message was. And how absurdly over the top it was. And how COMMON that sort of thing is. Now I run to change the channel or mute the TV whenever that crap comes on, cuz it is sickening.

Cali-bangers are real. The Real Problem is wanton excess. In cars, in clothes, in homes, in everything. It's not knowing what to think about your life in terms other than consuming goods & services. And it's a very easy trap to fall into.

I feel like I have to maintain constant vigilance not to fall into this trap. I feel I have one real weakness, and that's books. They are work related, which helps me rationalize things. I've probably spent $150 on books this year alone. That's a LOT for me. I just don't buy stuff.

I can afford a lot of "stuff". But I have no interest in buying crap like that. I have 2 cars, food to eat, a few computers & books. Don't need much else. Although I do want a house someday. I'm pretty sure that when the time is right, I'll be able to buy a house for cash. Maybe. From the comments:

I knew a guy who had the saying "He Who Dies With the Most Toys Wins" on his license plate. He was a native Oregonian. The attitude you describe is an AMERICAN one, not just a California one.

This ludicrous excess consumption is the #1 Social Problem in this country. IT'S DEADLY because there's No Institutionalized Cure. In fact almost every large scale economic force is DEDICATED to making it worse.

This is why the current BAILOUT is doomed. We are band-aiding the problem, AGAIN.

Dropped rates the for the NASDAQ bust, don't wanna feel the pain. No way. Keep spending, keep the party going.

Second tinderbox, the housing bust, well they're going to bailout the banks. Notice they're BUYING foreclosed homes; fuck the inhabitants, pay off the banks.

Reminds me of Old School forest management. Fight the fire. PUT IT OUT. Think about the destruction. Prevent it at all costs. We can HARVEST that wood, if we put out the fire. Squelch the flames before we suffer!

We found out the ignorance of our ways.

Fires periodically burn the fuels on the floor, and if they burn frequently enough, and nature takes its course, then the fires don't burn as hot. Big trees remain, the ecosystem rejuvenates itself, and growth begins anew.

But humans intervened to STOP THESE NATURAL PROCESSES. Selfish, stupid & short-sighted.

The old NEEDS to be PURGED. It NEEDS to burn. If we don't let it burn now, the next time it goes up it will INCINERATE EVERYTHING. It will go out of control.

Fannie & Freddie should be allowed to go down. Otherwise we end up with companies famously contained in Mr Burns stock portfolio:

Amalgamated Spats. Confederated Slaves Holdings. Baltimore Opera Hat Company.

We're in our Second Huge Firefight. We saved NASDAQ in 2000-2004. We are now saving Fannie & Freddie, and it's burning HOTTER. This time it is WAY BIGGER than last time.

We should let them BURN. We should allow nature to take its course. Let homes be foreclosed on. Let banks lose trillions. We'll survive & move on in a few years.

But the government is GOING TO FIGHT THIS FIRE, because The Religion of Excess Consumption would be sacrificed if they did not. They can't even allow that to ever even be considered. Excess Consumption is What We Do.

Mark my words: Fire #3 won't be containable. They are going to LIQUIFY THE US ECONOMY. Maybe Fire #3 is Hyper Inflation, maybe a huge fucking war. I don't know.

I only know that the US economy is being manipulated to an unnatural demise. We've got to allow FAILURE. We NEED TO BURN. We need to cleanse this desire to consume well beyond our needs.

Moving on...

Dunc had a pretty good post, Greenwood status report.

I travel Greenwood quite often, and it has become riddled with "For Sale" and "For Lease" signs, or the true harbinger of doom, "For Sale or Lease".

If you want to watch the gutting of Bends bread & butter businesses in high relief, then go to Greenwood, mainly between 3rd & downtown. EVERYTHING is empty. It's happening everywhere, but this is a main artery & heavily traveled.

Good training ground for future generations on how to destroy property values. Raised lease rates beyond reasonable, and now vacancy rates are exploding. Once you hit that tipping point of excessive EMPTY, you can't lease anything at any price.

There are in fact many Cent OR standby businesses that are shuttering their doors.

Kayos is closing both locations. Blue Teal. Ernestos. Jokers is now called something else (I forget), after its owners had to kite checks. Tum-A-Lum lumber.

This is Tip-Of-The-Iceberg reporting. For every 10 that is reported as closing, 90 are simply shut down.

Bend media. Just like the US Government. Amex too. Wants to keep you spending. Blow sunshine up your skirt. LIE about the magnitude of the problem. Act like its not even there.

TETHEROW OPENED TODAY!
SPEND! SPEND! BE HAPPY! SPEND!

No one is killing themselves over bad real estate deals. No businesses are closing. Just spend.

No. Bends true character is coming out nonetheless:

Tumalo barn yields record $2.8 million pot haul
A raid on a large barn in Tumalo turned up almost 650 marijuana plants worth more than $2.8 million on the street, the largest indoor pot grow ever dismantled in Central Oregon - and it was still gearing up for full operation, officials said Thursday.

Madras meth raid busts 'major supplier'
A raid on a southwest Madras home Tuesday morning led to the arrest of two residents, one described by drug agents as a major methamphetamine supplier in the area.

Bend police capture second fugitive after chase

Bend fugitive on the run captured in Idaho

Knocked on Nampa woman's door, asked for water - and place to hide By Barney Lerten, KTVZ.COM A Bend fugitive wanted in an armed robbery and assault who fled pursuing police late last week, triggering an intensive manhunt, has been captured in Idaho, authorities confirmed late Thursday.
Bend manhunt: Knife-wielding suspect eludes police
Residents get warning; search scaled back at midday By Nina Mehlhaf and Barney Lerten, KTVZ.COM Wanted since Monday for armed robbery and assault, a Bend man forced south Bend residents to keep their doors locked while a manhunt went on for hours Thursday.

Yup. When the rubber meets the road, Bend reverts to its True Self, a crime & drug haven.

No. It ain't "just you". These stories ARE happening with increasing & alarming frequency. Hell, I didn't even mention the huge increase in vandalism.

Look at what's happening. We are all of us consuming lemmings. They want us to keep buying NO MATTER WHAT. Even if it kills us. Even if CONSUMING means ME KILLING YOU. Even if it means ME STEALING YOUR SHIT. Even if it means ME SELLING YOU DRUGS.

Jay Audia, I'm sure was a nice guy. But he bought into The Bend Dream, like thousands of others. But it's a DREAM folks. This place doesn't really have a sustainable economy. That's how 19 year old punks rent HUGE mansions: DRUGS.

Bend is becoming & will become a town of crimes, drugs, vandalism, murder & suicide.

And it's because the media WON'T let us BURN. Audia in the papers as a WARNING? No. Put out that fire. What's after Audia then? Someone going postal?

The Shire shut down. Are they going to kill Peter Jackson? Hey, I'm NOT kidding. Read the comments. People are MAD AS HELL because I'm advocating WE LET IT BURN THIS TIME. "Bottomless hatred" they call it.

City of Bend. American Express. US Government. Bend media.

All want to let it ride. Put out the fire & LETS GET BACK TO NORMAL. Worked out with that NASDAQ snafu, right? It'll work this time again, right? Not going to happen.

IF, and it's a big IF, we manage to avert disaster this time, we simply have built a tinderbox that will rage out of control next time.

The current crisis is so large it will require liquefaction. Fire up the printing presses. Economy turns to mud beneath our feet. Hyper inflation. That'll be it. End of Story.

See, Jay Audia is the collateral damage of this firestorm. There will ALWAYS be losses. Anyone whose been in Cent OR for the Summer season KNOWS there's always going to be a spark.

But no one wants anyone to know that. They think that ARTIFICIAL CONTAINMENT is a sustainable practice, it is not. Jay Audia killed Jay Audia. But in some measure John Costa killed Audia. KTVZ killed Audia. Hell, even Alan Greenspan had a hand in it.

The last containment creates more victims The Next Time. And believe me, There Is Always A Next Time. If you notice, this country has begun to be run as if there isn't.

Not On My Watch. I don't care what happens, just not on my watch. That's how it's being run. Give it to Obama.

The first cycle, I had friends who lost lots of money. But nobody DIED. Now in Round 2, we're starting to see what happens when nature is NOT allowed to take its course. People we KNOW have started to DIE.

Jay Audia would be alive today were the NASDAQ recession allowed to run its course. But no, Greenspan had to resurrect the Cali-Banger ASAP. Who cares about Round 2, that's Not My Watch.

Folks, we need to let this thing go, run its course & burn like hell. I DO NOT have "bottomless hate" for you or your excessive ways, Cali-Bangers. I have quite a few friends who probably scored over 50 on my little Cali-Test. I had a few points too.

But the Cali-Banger lifestyle is going to INCINERATE this country. Negative Savings? We've started acting like it's OK! What? We've gotten used to it.

For each one of us, our government owes FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS hundreds & thousands of dollars. We are transferring our wealth, built over the course of centuries, to foreign governments & corporations at a rate unheralded in history. We only have to buy 400 billion barrels of oil, and we'll be broke. $700 billion a year OUT THE DOOR. Your 3 humungoid SUV's & 2 White Liberal Guilt Prius' are why that's happening, Cali-Banger.

Who cares about what we owe each other. Credit cards, budget deficit. Blah, who cares. That's just us owing us. But when we owe others, we are well & truly going broke. The budget deficit won't kill us, the Trade Deficit WILL. And the Trade Deficit is the DIRECT RESULT of the Cali-Banger lifestyle, a lifestyle that has the decision makers of the World scrambling to preserve it AT ALL COSTS.

Simply realize it CANNOT be saved. Negative savings? My God, talk to anyone about a topic like that prior to the last 30-40 years, and they'd have thought you crazy.

At some point 'we the people of bend' have to take action, and collectively edoocate the BULL&SORE that having +50% of homeless beggars roaming in BEND will NOT fix the fucking bubble.

If we stay on this bailout track, the US will be the beggar out on the course, picking up balls. We will be the Worlds beggars, if we aren't already. Centuries of work, wiped out to preserve an artificial lifestyle.

You need only educate yourself on the aftermath of artificial forest management to see where the US is headed. We did it for a hundred years. Just meant forests overrun with fuel, tinderboxes, burned out of control "next time". We couldn't "save" them, the Big Trees were not big enough to survive & they burned.

What are these "Big Trees"?

Note, also before one jumps to some huge fucking conclusion, the oil will be gone as know its use in 20-40 years, and the USA has the biggest COAL deposits in the world. Our coal will ten-fold, the rest of the world will be buying coal derivatives in the form of liquid petro from the USA in the next century.

Your cali-ism of excess, is just a 1920's blip. The world moves on, I think the logical assumption would be that if the USA continues to impoverish itself, that you can expect China or some 'super-power' in the future to invade the USA to secure our coal deposits.

We are. The US itself, is. We need to let this fire burn. We didn't last time, and now this time it is burning so hot it threatens our very financial system. It threatens to take down a system that has put MILLIONS of people in homes for the past 40 years.

If they liquify our economy to preserve the Cali-Banger this time, there won't be a place left worth going here. Des Moines, Wichita? No, the whole mess will be taken down, no matter its participation in Round 2.

Shit get an old boat, or an old RV, and head down to mexico and live on $500/mo or less, or shit go to thailand, and live on $500/mo or less and get a 20 yr-old wife even if your 80..

We've talked back in the day about some pretty weird stuff. Gardening for your food. Caching gold, for the love of Christ. Real survivalist stuff.

(How about this: Historians might look back on George Bush as one of our greatest, most prescient Presidents! After all, he created the Great Country of Amer-Iraq-ica, 3rd largest oil reserves in the World...)

And this stuff is actually starting to make A Lot Of Sense.

Did you think people, people you know, would start DYING over this thing?

People are dying, collateral damage of artificial maintenance of a natural process. If they're DYING this round, what happens Next Time.

China takes us over? Buster & his clapboard; Looks less & less crazy everyday. It ain't Wichita or Charlotte we'll flee to, to escape Round 3, it'll be Thailand or Australia or China.

We need to let this fire burn. Let it burn, or there won't be a country worth having next time.

Drugs. Business Closures. Murder. Suicide. Speed traps. Bank failures. Homocide. Fannie. Freddie. Foreclosures. The Plaza. Meth dens. Robbery. Embezzlement. Fraud. Jay Audia.

All for want of the Cali-Banger lifestyle.

They are all of the same origin. Round 1 wasn't allowed to run its course. These are the offshoots of that decision. They are the fuels of Round 2. And they are AGAIN not going to let the fuel BURN. And so begins Round 3. Hello Bangkok, goodbye Wichita & Charlotte.

We should LEARN from our own mistakes & the mistakes of others and Let It Burn. If we do not, this time will be remembered as the most backward & uneducated period in our financial history. The Great Depression... The Japanese Bust of the past 20 years... both the DIRECT RESULT of Well-Meaning, but ultimately DESTRUCTIVE intervention by governments who wanted to preserve the status quo At All Costs. And the costs ended up being high indeed.

When you want to know The Real Costs, the Total Costs, of this bailout, look around. It's everything. It's all around us. We'll lose this country. Let It Burn means making do with your car for another 2-3 years. It means NOT buying $200 in clothes this weekend. It means waking up & not being lulled into a coma by some fucking Amex commercial. You DO NOT NEED 90% of the shit you think you need. You don't need that fucking iPhone, PS3, big screen TV, or all that other crap. You don't.

Consuming in excess of what you're making, and pre-consuming all your future earnings is the road to complete disaster. We can't survive as a country & think that's even remotely possible. We're transferring $700 billion overseas every year JUST FOR THE OIL needed to perpetuate this myth. And it is a myth, a 100% fantasy, and it cannot go on.

But our government & corporations are doing everything possible to keep this dream alive. Despite the fact it will ruin us. 100% ruination.

We Need To Let It Burn.

Paterson Warns of Economic Crisis

“Revenues are dropping dramatically,” the governor added. At the start of May, the state budget office projected a cumulative deficit of $21.5 billion over the next three years. Now, just two months later, that estimate has risen to $26.2 billion — “a staggering 22 percent increase in less than 90 days.”

Mr. Paterson offered another example of the rapid deterioration in the state’s finances. In June 2007, he said, the 16 banks that pay the most on their business profits remitted $173 million to the state treasury. “This June, just a month ago, they sent us $5 million — a 97 percent decrease,” he said.

Holy shit. I think this says way, way, way more about the state of the financial banks than their cooked 2nd QTR numbers.

Here's a comment on KTVZ.com regarding the burying of formaldehyde, which is believed to be causing horse deformities:

Ranch neighbors fear waste led to deformed horses

WHy would anyone bury something like that? Im sure they were not educated on the results of doing this, otherwise who would do that?

Only funny, in that you can tell this person HAS NOT BEEN HERE LONG.

This is OREGON, you dumbfuck. When people don't know what to do with something, be it toxic waste, lead buckshot, or corpses, THEY BURY THAT SHIT.

Or throw it in a fucking river.

Drive down any forest road in the Winter & TRY and count the number of dead horse corpses.

THIS IS OREGON. THEY LOVE DOING SHIT THAT DON'T MAKE NO SENSE.

I was thinking a good thing to talk about is what banks are looking good, rather than failure.

Here in ORYGUN I'm mighty impressed with BofA, and US-Bank, all others I would be very shy.

I like credit-unions for personal banking, and US-BANK for business banking.

I agree that one should look for a 50% drop in a bank stock, but hell to date CACB is down 90% over the last few years, at what point do you start looking for your 50% drop? I know in one day, but at this point with CACB that kind of volatility has already been blown, as the BIG mutuals bailed out of that BITCH back in 2006.

*

Again rather than focussing on what's bad, lets focus on what's safe, the biz of this blog is survival. I say ...

1.) Credit Unions for personal, as they didn't play loosey-goosey.
2.) US-BANK&BofA for biz, as you have to be able to process credit-cards.
3.) Off-Shore, take a little vacation but first buy some diamonds, or roll-up art, and get some CASH into EURO, CANADA, YUAN (china), hell even MEXICO will start looking like a fucking geni-ass.

I think the DOLLAR is going to go to FUCKING SHIT. Thus it really doesn't matter how much you have in NATIONAl/REGIONAL US banks, if that dollar is worthless, what are you going to buy?

The way to think about it is having an off-shore account is like having a money-tree, every day the dollar goes down the off-shore bank prints more dollars for you! Also given low interest rates, and the fact the stock market is tied to the US Dollar that's not safe.

I'm not impressed with any of the contrarian FUNDS so called 'QQQ' ULTRA SHORT, ... most of them are sitting on SIV paper, most of them have the funds in US banks.

I would HIGHLY suggest ALL to pickup a COPY of McEleveny's "The Great Depression' ASAP, and start reading and familiarizing yourself with the FUTURE USA.

Awesome! The Governator threatens to fuck state workers straight up the ass. I predict bad things for Sacramento home prices if that happens...

Schwarzenegger threatens minimum wage for workers

By JULIET WILLIAMS – 6 days ago

SACRAMENTO (AP) — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is threatening to pay thousands of state employees the federal minimum wage of $6.55 an hour until lawmakers reach a deal on California's overdue state budget.

Democrats and Republicans have so far been unable to compromise on a solution to the state's $15.2 billion budget deficit for the fiscal year that started July 1. As the stalemate continued, Schwarzenegger has ratcheted up his rhetoric.

Spokesman Aaron McLear said the Republican governor is contemplating signing an executive order next week that would pay about 200,000 state workers the federal minimum wage, which is $1.45 an hour less than California's minimum wage.

Employees would receive their full salary retroactively once a budget is signed.

"Because the Legislature has failed to produce a budget over a month past their deadline and because we don't have a rainy day fund, the governor is looking at a number of options to make sure the state does not run out of cash," McLear said.

A draft of the executive order also said state agencies would be prevented from hiring any nonessential employees and would be forced to terminate about 20,000 contracts with temporary workers, interns and contractors. There also would be a ban on most overtime.

The administration estimates that immediately terminating the contracts and suspending overtime would save the state about $100 million a month. The deferred wages would take several weeks to implement, saving the state as much as $400 million a month starting in late August.

State Controller John Chiang, whose office pays state employees, criticized Schwarzenegger's threat as a political ploy that could end up costing the state even more in litigation fees.

"Forcing public servants to involuntarily loan the state cash by foregoing their hard-earned paychecks puts an untenable burden on our teachers, health care workers and those who provide critical public services," Chiang said in a statement.

"Cutting workers' salaries will do nothing meaningful to improve our cash position or help us make our priority payments."

The Service Employees International Union, which represents nearly half the affected workers, was considering legal action to try to block the move, spokesman Jim Zamora said.

"We're victims of this budget crisis. It's not our fault that the state Legislature and Governor Schwarzenegger can't come together to pass a balanced budget," he said.

The union represents about 95,000 clerical, office and civilian workers throughout the state.

Emergency, disaster and other critical workers would be exempt from the order.

Legislative leaders in both houses have said they are working to meet an Aug. 1 deadline. Without a spending plan in place by then, the state will have to start negotiating on expensive loans to address a cash shortfall that will affect state coffers by the end of September.

What's most fascinating is that the BUSH-TRIBE still will not even admit that we're in a recession.

The news certainly can't be any worse than today. Thus this good be a positive.

I really think that a lot of people who wanted to 'walk' did 'walk', we have kept interest-rates low to prevent an UP-TICK in resets.

Bend has held very well.

The interesting thing is the USA is burning and OLD BUSH-TRIBE ELDERS are completely silent. It's like nobody but PAULSON is involved, and his involvement is just to make sure that GOLDMAN is the lat man standing. Then there is CHENEY who is only worried that HALLIBURTON survives.

Nobody seems to be watching our the SURVIVAL of this country, which of course is a COMPLETE fucking leadership VOID.

The getting ALL for yourself has been systematic since the 1980's, e.g. KKR, bank failures, golden-parachutes.

Borrowed MONEY from abroad is what kept us going. Now folks abroad are DUMPING their USA assets, and accounts in total fucking fear.

Of course ever since RONNY-RAYGUN being positive & optimistic was HOW your were presidential, and anybody that told the TRUTH was considered to be EVIL out of touch twat, like Dukakis, or Carter.

Bend is looking MORE&MORE like its better than a lot of other places.

The Paterson quote today should be applied to OUR BEND, they borrow&borrow to throw away $12M or more for Les-Schwab, on its CAMPUSSY, but now its BORROW FROM WHOM? Somebody should email Abernethy the Paterson story, if a blind man can get it, maybe a silver-spoon never worked in his life pansy can? Bend has BETTER & quick have a little conversation about spending MONEY.

Like the USA-TODAY story about BEND being a bargain, that shit costs US 10's of 1,000's of dollars in tax-payer money to wine&dine these fucking 'out-of-state-journalists' everytime we fly them in here.

The same thing that I say for the BUSH-TRIBE can be said for the HOLLERN-TRIBE.

HOLLERN don't give a fuck about BEND, he controls EVERYTHING in this town, yet he'll make sure the city treasure is expended to SAVE Brooks Resources, and that way the BILL goes to the general tax-payer.

Everything is fine, pay no attention.

Karen Trainer bought a $500,000 apartment in California. Purebred Cali-Banger of the Highest Order: 100% selfish, fuck you, no-pain, instant-default douche bag

Couldn't agree more; she's a cunt. There should be legal remedies the lender could pursue in such a case -- garnish her salary or something.

Buster makes the point that we have to be careful what we mean when we say "Fed." Federal Gov't as a whole, Federal Reserve, or whatever part of the gov't is involved. In banks, it's the FDIC that keeps the danger list. I imagine that's what the lawmakers are looking at now.

I don't think that, in general, the Federal Reserve gives a fuck about local or regional banks going under unless they do it en masse. The Federal Reserve cares about the super-regionals, national banks, and Wall Street Investment Banks.

IndyMac is not a big deal to the Federal Reserve EXCEPT in how it affects confidence.

This is our culture there are only winners. Look at Bend Audia was winner, he built affordable STD's in a falling-knife economy.

There are NO losers, they're all un-mentionable.

With regards to this GAL, she probably lost her downpayment, might have gotten back by staying in the house until they kicked her out by not paying the MTG.

Heads I win, Tails you Lose. Everyone plays this game, everywhere.

WHY in the fuck did the BANK loan $500k for a FUCKING APT-CONDO-CONVERSION, that is worth $200k or less? The appraiser? Everyone is/was part of the dream, and she bet wrong and walks. You WOULD HAVE TO BE a complete FUCKING ninny to stick around with a zero-interest loan, and pay $5k/mo forever fucking ever? IS that what she was supposed to do?

Let's ask the question different.

SHOULD the BULL, write a story that say's "COMPLETE FUCKING IDIOT, PAYS OFF LOAN ON OVER-PRICE BEND RE".

No, you'll not see that, cuz they don't want to make fun of the REAL IDIOTS. It's one to have bought at TOP-of-the-MARKET, its another thing to stick around. It's fucked me once, but anybody that lets themselves get FUCKED forever is a complete fucking idiot.

The government handed money out like CANDY cuz the BUSH-TRIBE wanted to win the second election, now the REPUG's have FUCKED their own party so bad, nobody will elect a REPUG forever, just like 1929, all fucking over again.

The thing is EVERY body knew that EVERYONE was in it for themselves, and the greatest part was everyone really thought they would get their share.

It's going down, and HARD, and those that got out early, rather than spending years throwing $5k/mo on a condo-conversion are going to look like geni-asses.

I can see in a few years the majority of SHITHEAD CUNTS in BEND and else where denying they ever voted for the BUSH-TRIBE.

"There should be legal remedies the lender could pursue in such a case -- garnish her salary or something."

In recourse states the bank can go after the borrower. In non-recourse states, such as California and Oregon, the bank can only go after the asset if the original loan is not paid off. If any subsequent loan is not paid in full, such as re-finance and home equity loans of any kind, the bank can go after the borrower in all states. It is only the original loan that is non-recourse and then only in certain states.

from http://www.mortgagereliefformula.com/recourse/ --

These are all the mortgage walkaway trustee sale states, meaning they are non-judicial foreclosure states.

In those states, generally, when they foreclose on you, they cannot pursue you for their financial losses.

Many, such as California, do in theory allow a lender to choose judicial foreclosure but in those cases the lenders only do so if a borrower has significant other assets. This is the "one action" rule that lets the lender either pursue non-judicial foreclosure, at lower cost and less time, or judicial foreclosure that costs more money and takes more time but lets them go after you for their financial losses.

Thanks TIM, mee thinks its time for a short history lesson on banking.

FED lately has meant Federal-Reserve-Bank, a 1914 or there about creation that said for every dollar you had, you could loan ten, thus it was a 'fractional reserve' system. The board which is the FRB oversees the banks, but its essentially an old boyz club that decides who gets the pork. Today the club of banks can borrow 100X of their deposits at over night federal-reserve rates which is right now less than 2%. Thus unlike the GREAT-DEPRESSION when things went down 90%, in theory in this collapse because of the 100X or higher leverage, the collapse could be 99%. This is an IMPORTANT CONCEPT that MUST be understood.

During the great depression, when the bubble collapsed, everything went down 90% cuz, things went back to the real value, as banks had loaned 10X, people had played the market and the RE. When the bubble was over everything was down 90% or more.

[ OK, NOW we're going to talk FDIC ]

Out of that they created the FDIC which is an insurance fund to protect depositors. The requirement is that for every dollar you take from a customer, you put a penny into the cooperative insurance piggy bank.

It is essential to understand that in a total fucking collapse, ONLY the first 1% of the piggy's get their pork back. This is why the FDIC maintains the 200 list, which is about 1-2% of the banks, there is no point of watching more banks than you can afford to cover.

If the losses exceed the amount in the FDIC piggy bank to cover the depositor losses to $100k per account, then in theory the US GOVERNMENT would step in, but this never been tested, and the US government is under no obligation. The RESERVES in the FDIC are to be used to cover the default of banks to cover deposits, there SHALL not be a failure of over 1%, who would have guess? ( sarcasm ).

Over the years the BANKS have lobbied to put less&less cash into the FDCI piggy bank, thus today its a joke. Under the law the FDIC is required to return your money in 99 years, thus seeing it in your lifetime is a joke.

Normally what has happened recently is that when a bank fails, another bank picks up that bank, and covers the deposits, and FDIC promises to cover the purchaser. That is orderly, and has worked. Trouble is that at some POINT, there may be nobody that wants to BUY that fucking bank. Then once the FDIC reserves are exhausted, its 1930's DEJA-VU all over again.

[ ok, now back to banks ]

Orginally when the US was created, and paper money allowed, the government could ONLY create $1 for every DOLLAR in gold at FORT-KNOX. The FEDERAL-RESERVE ended that with "FRACTIONAL-RESERVE-BANKING" better know by the mafia as LEVERAGING.

HISTORY shows in ALL mercantile society's in history they always collapse for this REASON ( Oswald Sprengler, "Decline of the West" 1920's ). The paper money becomes debased to the point it has NO value, this is what led to the fall of Rome, and all great western civilizations since.

For almost 100 years the US banking boyz have led the largest paper ponzi scheme in human history. All politicians are deeply intertwined in the system. There is NO HOPE of any one even O-BOMB-A fixing the fucking mess, cuz its in everyones self interest to keep printing the money. Ever since WWII, and the USA came out on TOP, the #1 goal of the USA has been to keep a gun to the worlds head and force them to trade with debased dollars.

Today we're nearing the boiling point. The end is near.

In banks, it's the FDIC that keeps the danger list. I imagine that's what the lawmakers are looking at now.

I could print the info again, as we have NOT killed this dead horse for a few years.

In the 1960's 'congress' wrote a report called 'A primer on money', its on the net in PDF, its a photocopy, cuz in those days everything was printed with ink.

At that time it was estimated that NOT a single FUCKING congressman or senator understood how our banking system works, this is why the report was written.

Today its estimated that even less lawmakers understand our banking system.

What do you think the lawmakers are looking at? I think they're looking at their dicks.

If you want to understand what they don't understand, then read "The Primer on Money".

Both that and "Modern Money Mechanics" from the Chicago Fed--"The purpose of this booklet is to describe the basic process of money creation in a "fractional reserve" banking system. The approach taken illustrates the changes in bank balance sheets that occur when deposits in banks change as a result of monetary action by the Federal Reserve System - the central bank of the United States."

The key few paragraphs are:

Who Creates Money?

Changes in the quantity of money may originate with actions of the Federal Reserve System (the central bank), depository institutions (principally commercial banks), or the public. The major control, however, rests with the central bank.

The actual process of money creation takes place primarily in banks.' As noted earlier, checkable liabilities of banks are money. These liabilities are customers' accounts. They increase when customers deposit currency and checks and when the proceeds of loans made by the banks are credited to borrowers' accounts.

In the absence of legal reserve requirements, banks can build up deposits by increasing loans and investments so long as they keep enough currency on hand to redeem whatever amounts the holders of deposits want to convert into currency. This unique attribute of the banking business was discovered many centuries ago.

It started with goldsmiths. As early bankers, they initially provided safekeeping services, making a profit from vault storage fees for gold and coins deposited with them. People would redeem their "deposit receipts" whenever they needed gold or coins to purchase something, and physically take the gold or coins to the seller who, in turn, would deposit them for safekeeping, often with the same banker. Everyone soon found that it was a lot easier simply to use the deposit receipts directly as a means of payment. These receipts, which became known as notes, were acceptable as money since whoever held them could go to the banker and exchange them for metallic money.

Then, bankers discovered that they could make loans merely by giving their promises to pay, or bank notes, to borrowers. In this way, banks began to create money. More notes could be issued than the gold and coin on hand because only a portion of the notes outstanding would be presented for payment at any one time. Enough metallic money had to be kept on hand, of course, to redeem whatever volume of notes was presented for payment.

Transaction deposits are the modem counterpart of bank notes. It was a small step from printing notes to making book entries crediting deposits of borrowers, which the borrowers in turn could "spend" by writing checks, thereby "printing" their own money.

Money is created by making loans. An accounting entry is made that magically places money in some entities account based on an agreement to pay it back.

That's why the walk away phenomenon is scaring financial types--they know that if enough people simply walk away the fractional reserve banking system will not be able to cope, and will collapse.

On a related note, did you all know about JFK's efforts to hobble the Fed. To the point of stripping the Fed's power to loan money to the US Treasury and authorizing competing silver notes (i.e. silver-backed dollars and other bills) with Executive Order 1110? Interesting stuff...

Executive Order 11110

AMENDMENT OF EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 10289 AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE PERFORMANCE OF CERTAIN FUNCTIONS AFFECTING THE DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY. By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 301 of title 3 of the United States Code, it is ordered as follows:

SECTION 1. Executive Order No. 10289 of September 19, 1951, as amended, is hereby further amended - (a) By adding at the end of paragraph 1 thereof the following subparagraph (j): "(j) The authority vested in the President by paragraph (b) of section 43 of the Act of May 12, 1933, as amended (31 U.S.C. 821 (b)), to issue silver certificates against any silver bullion, silver, or standard silver dollars in the Treasury not then held for redemption of any outstanding silver certificates, to prescribe the denominations of such silver certificates, and to coin standard silver dollars and subsidiary silver currency for their redemption," and (b) By revoking subparagraphs (b) and (c) of paragraph 2 thereof. SECTION 2. The amendment made by this Order shall not affect any act done, or any right accruing or accrued or any suit or proceeding had or commenced in any civil or criminal cause prior to the date of this Order but all such liabilities shall continue and may be enforced as if said amendments had not been made.

Even better, Timmy, they take the loans they make, resell them back to themselves, and use them as reserves to make more loans. To be backed explicitly by the US taxpayer, while profits go to shareholders.

Can you imagine a better Ponzi scheme?

Hello,

Back again on ratings! Would you like to learn the safety rating of your local bank or credit union, highest 5-star to lowest 1-star?

Go to Bauer Financial. Enter query separately for banks and credit unions. Check always. Note that if the bank is headquartered outside Oregon, you must enter the other state, e.g. Wells Fargo, Cali. You may also omit the name of the institution and enter Oregon to get ratings on all Oregon firms. Scroll down on same page. In this way, for instance, you get ratings for 83 credit unions.

Have fun!

Notice that Umpqua is a 5-star while Bank of the Cascades is a 3-star as of today!

For developers of Bend’s Shire, ‘dream’ is over

Dean Guernsey / The Bulletin

The rise and fall of Bend’s real estate economy has resulted in foreclosure proceedings against The Shire, a village-themed concept in southeast Bend patterned after J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” series.

A notice of default was recorded last week in the Deschutes County Clerk’s Office on the 31-lot development, which had a “Disneyland-like feel” according to one of its developers and was characterized by Old World housing styles and a fantasy setting.

The Shire concept originated with Ron Meyers, who sold his share in the development for an unspecified amount to Dr. Lynn B. McDonald — a former emergency room physician at St. Charles Bend. McDonald died July 7.

“It basically destroyed my life financially, but that’s the price of a dream,” Meyers said. “The development wasn’t able to materialize fast enough before the market crashed.”

McDonald and his wife, Jan, had taken full ownership of the project in May with the hope they could sell it, Jan McDonald said Wednesday.

Jan McDonald is trying to sell the 14 developed lots, one house and additional land before the 6-acre property goes to public auction in December, she said.

The family owes Umpqua Bank $3.4 million on the project, according to the default notice.

The notice also names Meyers as a guarantor.

“It was Ron’s concept, and it was a good one,” Jan McDonald said. “Had the market not gone to where it went, it had the potential to be successful.”

The project — whose features include unique stonework, artificial thatched roofs, terraced gardens and a network of streams and ponds with a pathway leading to what’s called “The Ring Bearer’s Court” — captured media attention outside Central Oregon, including a December 2006 feature on BBC Radio.

The development drew about 6,000 visitors over two weekends in summer 2006 at the Central Oregon Builders Association’s Tour of Homes and has continued to attract curious onlookers, Meyers said.

Meyers and McDonald drew up a set of rules — similar to codes, covenants and restrictions that govern rules in many subdivisions — and called them the “Declaration of Interdependence.”

“We wanted to create a community — not just another subdivision,” Meyers said.

One home has sold for $650,000 since the project broke ground in fall 2006.

Shire Development acted as developer and builder for the project.

Another home, called Butterfly Cottage, is nearly completed but has not been sold. It’s listed for $899,000. The 3,200-square-foot home overlooks an amphitheater, has 26-foot-high ceilings and interior finishes that include bamboo flooring, a Japanese soaking tub and granite countertops. The house has a “hobbit hole” in the backyard for storing garden supplies.

Both of the homes have artificial thatched roofs and a storybook look that includes dragon-shaped support beams.

The Shire began to unravel in summer 2007 when the subprime mortgage crisis began to dry up credit sources, Meyers said.

“Banks were getting nervous,” Meyers said. “They’re still nervous.”

The dream died for many other reasons, including bad timing, legal challenges with the city of Bend over planning and permit issues, and lack of sales, Meyers said.

“Some people were turned off by living in ‘Disneyland,’” he said. “It’s more of an artists’ community for a certain market segment that wanted something different. There’s been enough people that have come through that would say, ‘What a wonderful concept.’ But then the market crashed, and everyone (went) home.”

If McDonald can’t sell the development, Umpqua will hold an auction at the Deschutes County Courthouse on Dec. 2, according to the default notice.

Umpqua, citing privacy and pending litigation, declined to comment.

Greg Steckler, a designer of the project, is the lone owner of a Shire home, where he lives with his wife and mother-in-law. He calls himself the resident greeter and the resident hobbit, after the joyful characters who occupied a magical village called The Shire in “The Lord of the Rings.”

The development stills draws several curious visitors per day who come to see the unsold home, but has not drawn any buyers, Steckler said.

“People always come back to see what’s happened with the development,” Steckler said. “I’m always sad to tell them, ‘Not much.’”

Questions remain about what will happen if the bank sells the project, if the buyer will continue the original concept, Steckler said.

He and landscaping crews still maintain the diverse plants on the grounds.

“The bank is probably going to discount everything quite heavily,” he said. “Whoever buys, I hope they’re like-minded and want to keep the same theme going. But at the same time, we’re realistic. We might need to make some modifications with the economic climate. In other words, we don’t need to have a thatched roof. But it would be nice if similar architectural styles are kept.”

Last year, Sisters' planning department issued 68 permits for single-family residential construction. This year so far, the department has issued seven. Three of those, however, came in this month, indicating some pickup in residential construction action.

All is great till the final line. Then you got your 80% decline... (calculated as 7 so far this half of the year, so maybe 14 total (maybe not), divided by 68). About 80% DOWN....

U.S. economy suffers fourth-quarter contraction
Revisions show spending slower, profits higher than previously thought

By Rex Nutting, MarketWatch
Last update: 9:01 a.m. EDT July 31, 2008

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. economy contracted in the fourth quarter of 2007, the first quarter of negative growth since the 2001 recession, the Commerce Department said Thursday in its annual revision to gross domestic product.

Real GDP fell 0.2% in the quarter; a 0.6% increase had previously been reported. Many economists who think the economy is in recession believe it began in the fourth quarter.

Growth in the first quarter of 2008 was revised down a tenth of a percentage point to 0.9%. The economy grew 1.9% in the second quarter, the department said.

Miraculous how it seems EVERY QUARTER is revised LOWER 6 months after the fact.

The recession started May 2007, that is when most of my businesses had sales go to near zero. Since then I have seen blips, this spring a lot of EU activity. Right now lots of work with Germany.

Oregon is doing fairly well, Portland is booming, people are still moving there, and home prices inside the city are sitting well. Its only hobby farms near Intel and happy-valley STD's that are bad. Seattle is still BOOMING. Thus the PNW is looking fairly nice.

Bend is BEND, with only construction jobs, and RE-HO jobs, and tourism jobs, this type of economy brings Bend to a halt.

I think we're going to see a lot of people move from Bend to Portland, in the coming months.

Yes, its amazing how TRIBE-BUSH has not seen a recession, yet by November of 2008 they'll back back-dated the recession to 2007, and have seen it all along. Already they're blaming O-BOMB-a for high fuel prices. I'm sure in the coming weeks they'll be blaming him for the RE-HO collapse.

CALI is one fucking MESS, all the people I know and distant relatives down there are now living like Asians, that is moving multiple familys in a home as people lose their homes. The wine biz is dead, thus those people are out of work, two years average for no RE commission is common. Construction is ok for re-model, there is always money.

All my friends that are still in HIGH-TECH are getting laid off all over the country. They're all saying its the worst in their working career. Chip Fab's are all shutting down, all the 200mm fabs here are obsolete, and in the last ten years all the investment has been in over-seas 300mm fabs. Thus the hard-ware world is now finished, software got wrapped years ago by India, China, and East-EU. ( Just the other day they announced closure of the chipper in Eugene )

The trick is to find a niche. I remember in 1983 in Bend, virtually everyone I knew was out of work in Oregon. Yet, I was making the most money of my life.

The secret is too look around and see who is making money and emulate them, and to ignore the fucking people bitching and moaning. I know it might seem like we bitch here, but I only bitch at the fucking waste.

I think even right now there is a lot of money to be made, I know that SOLAR is hot. I know people making a lot of money, but you have to have a good supplier of panels. I know that low-fuel auto's are hot again, so is the moped biz, right now if your sitting on VESPA's you can write your own ticket.

Fads come & go, there is always things going on.

Yes, TRIBE-BUSH will slowly over time tell us in the coming months that the recession started in 2007.

It's stock is clearly bubble-ish, but First Solar (FSLR), is hugely profitable.

First Solar, Inc. designs and manufactures solar modules using a thin film semiconductor technology. Its solar modules employ a thin layer of cadmium telluride semiconductor material to convert sunlight into electricity. It has long-term solar module supply contracts (the Long Term Supply Contracts) with 12 European project developers and system integrators. Its customers develops, owns and operates solar power plants or sells turnkey solar power plants to end-users that include owners of land, owners of agricultural buildings, owners of commercial warehouses, offices and industrial buildings, public agencies, municipal government authorities, utility companies, and financial investors that desire to own large scale solar power plant projects.

KARL ROVE is writing articles almost everyday in the WSJ. KARL is involved in this election, and he ONLY uses FEAR. Something BIG will happen you can count on it.

Sure there is a chance the Repug's will stumble, but in general the dirty tricks to come, ...

On the other side more dirt will come out on O-BOMB-A more history. More ties to the ol-boy chicago club. Who knows what the Repug's are sitting on.

If the bush-tribe cuts a big second round of check around turkey-day, that could swing shit also.

Like people say, most of America can't imagine a 'sort of black prez'. The racism goes deep in this country.

Then there is the VP issue, that's going to effect a lot, if McCain got say Colin Powell, that could do an enormous advantage for him, same for O-BOMB-A.

It's NOT slam dunk, cuz the USA people are sheep, and easily led off the cliff.

I remember two months ago the WSJ editorial said we must just give it up, we can't go against a 'black-man' everything we do will be construed racist.

But this comparison of O-BOMB-A to slutty USA porn-teens is brilliant, and while outrageous it hasn't been tagged racist, a little repetition, and the average US turkey will buy into this by turkey day. ROVIAN mind-fucking at its best.

Sun Power (SPWR) also is growing like crazy but is not nearly the bubblefied stock First Solar is...

SunPower Corporation (SunPower) is a vertically integrated solar products and services company that designs, manufactures and markets high-performance solar electric power technologies. Its solar power products are sold through its components business segment, or its components segment. In January 2007, it acquired PowerLight Corporation PowerLight, known as SunPower Corporation, Systems (SP Systems), which developed, engineered, manufactured and delivered large-scale solar power systems. These activities are performed by its systems business segment, or its systems segment. Its solar power systems, which generate electric energy, integrate solar cells and panels manufactured by it, as well as other suppliers. It operates in two segments: components segment and Systems segments. On January 8, 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of Solar Solutions, a solar systems integration and product distribution company based in Faenza, Italy.

Notice these things mainly sell to Europe because 1) Europe has been dealing with high gas prices since The Spanish Inquisition, and 2) Weak dollar makes this stuff dirt cheap to them.

Sorry to be hard on you, but I mention SOLAR, and you start talking the FUCKING stock-market.

HOMEE ALL fucking solar stocks are over-priced, ALL stocks suck dick. Quit fucking talking about the Fucking stock market homee, only a fucking moron trades stock in this kind of economic period.

Want to make a lot of money? Sell software that lets yuppie's control the home solar farm from the web anywhere. Any high tech gadget advertised in any solar magazine will sell around the world. This is how you make MONEY.

BUY fucking stock is just fucking paper, worthless paper. FUCK THE STOCK MARKET.

Sorry to be hard on you, but somebody has to fucking bitch-slap you.

It's like me saying PUSSY, and you think playboy or penthouse stocks. The stock market is miles away from the pussy homee.

Where in the fuck does this idea come from that you can buy stock, and play a market?

Almost all fortunes are made in Real Estate.

After that fortunes are made in having your own biz, and selling widgets. Then you take the cash-flow from your widget biz and buy RE. ( When I say widget, I don't care if its a crankshaft or a chip, a potatoe chip, or a semi-chip, a floppy-disk, or a emailed bits )

Anybody that has a job, and uses their money to buy stock, is and will always be a fucking loser.

What to make MONEY? Then when your young get a good education, and start your own company.

NEVER buy stock, its just bullshit paper.

Always be the owner or prez of your company, so you can be the one that takes the money to the bank everyday, and skim most of it off for yourself. This is how money is made in the USA.

Bullshittin has a story today on the collapse of The Shire, quoting Jan Macdonald (widow of the doctor) as saying the concept was good but the timing was bad, coming on the market just as the bubble popped. Pretty sad -- she's still clinging to the fantasy. I feel genuinely sorry for her.

Anonymous said...

If in spite of all this Americans are fucking STOOPID enough to elect McBush, I am giving up on this country.

never saw that happen in northern california. could this be a southern california thing? a portland thing?

*

yes, its a southern-cali thing.

North-cali is a different country.

I remember back in the 60's, any thing south was called the "ArmPit of Cali".

North is very much like Orygun. There used to be maps of country called 'ecotopia' and 'cascadia' that only including north-cali, and oregon.

Same for road-rage shooting, it only happens in South-Cali. That is where all the important people live. Think hollywood.

A cali stop has been around forever. If you have never seen it, then it means you haven't been on the west-coast that long.

What I find interesting is when you get up in Washington, the drivers up there drive more like LA people.

I think that North-Cali, and old orygon was a slower 'hobbit' like place. Seattle was always like LA. Busy people with no time to make a complete stop.

I think of WASHINGTON, cuz when I drive MTN passes, its always WASH plates, that make the most precarious illegal passes on blind-turns. Again, there willing to killing everybody to go fast. Old Oregonians were in no hurry to go anywhere, we were already there.

Sad my fucking ass, the whole world laughed its ass off at Bend, OR.

That was our turning point in SEP-2006, the announcement of the shire.

Then there was the flying couch, and now the pregnant man, Bend is famous, but the SHire was our beginning, and our END.

Sad? To this day the 'reports' that we wrote over the last two years on the Shire is the funniest shit we have ever written.

HOW FUCKING stupid was this ER doc? I mean buying into a disneyland in the fucking desert? On a desert Isl, I bet this doc got a hell of a fucking deal, he got the 'falling knife' on a deal so fucking good it coudlnt' be let go. You never want to grasp a falling knife, this doc just couldn't let go. He should have fucking known better.

I'm always talking about MONEY, and HOW to make money.

Let's say something about how FUCKING stupid doc's, lawyers, and CPA's are about money.

The make money easy, the ER doc probably made over a couple $100k/yr, thus it grew on trees, he didn't care if he lost, he could make it back. He doubled his bets all the way to the grave-yard, on what I call doc/lawyer econ-logic.

Same with fucking lawyers, when you make $200/hr, you don't care if you get wiped out, there's another rain-check coming in tomorrow.

NEVER do biz with a doc or lawyer or cap boyz, they'll wipe you out. Those of us that work for our money, and spend years building an empire don't need to do biz like a fucking IDIOT.

BOTH these SAD fucking boyz were fucking IDIOTS.

Sorry dunc, I know your ned-flanders, and in reality your probably more machevellian than me, and I'm more sympathetic than timmy. But the fact is stoopid is stoopid, the SHIRE was stoopid, building disposable homes in a falling-knife desert-std-RE econ was stoopid.

Stoopid is NOT sad, its just stoopid.

I think more needs to be said on this issue of the LAST fucking sucker.

Let's look at the poor women you spent $500k for an apt/conversion and walked.

The own of the apt made money, lawyers made money, realtors made money, city makes money, taxes, assessor, title, insurance, everybody profited from here stoopid fucking purchase. Yet, she is suppposed to sit it out according to you CUNTS and be fucked for 30 years.

More people should walk, and teach the system a lesson. Most of this SHIT was SOLD by a ton of lies. Even in 2007 up at NWXC they were still telling people in the sales-office that BEND-RE only went up 25%/yr-APR. That buying a shack @ NWXC would ONLY make you money. I know this cuz I would go in there every once in a while when I had coffee next door over the last 2-5 years.

So the WHOLE FUCKING town lies to this bitch, and YET she is supposed to sit it out.

I say FUCK all of you ( realtors, mtg-brokers, lawyers, ... ) all who profited from her stoopid purchase.

If they all walk, then over time the lawyers will go after the people who lied, the insurance companys will pay claims, and then in the END, the USA will have learned something about selling condo-conversions to suckers.

Sure she bought it cuz she thought it would go to $1M, so did every fucking post 2002 buyer in BEND-OR.

They should ALL walk, and teach this FUCKING city of LORD-HOLLERN a fucking lesson.

Everyone who got fucked is supposed to just stay in that supine position forever. I say BULLSHIT.

The first out will look like geni-asses, the last out will look like morons.

Take worthless desert land, package it with HOPE, & PR+MARKETING, and deliver it to the SUCKER.

How does one search the blog comments. It used to happen automatically. It appears that now google excludes the comments from searches.

This is why I have felt you need to move the comments up to the main section for reference.

As now there appears to be no way to find old comments.

Anybody know of a google special search engine for the comments?

This is why I like 'groups' as USENET has been around over 20 years, and everything posted for all time is available.

With these fucking blogs its all gone with a delete of the mother blogs, and now the comments are invisible to the world, it may be that your running your website with that option.

If you have all comments hidden, then perhaps that's something you might want to turn off.

Or preferable create a new usenet group called bendbubble.or, and we use that and have threads and main subjects.

I heard from a 3rd party to a close friend that he shot himself in his bed and his girlfriend at some later point climbed into bed and figured out he was dead. Creepy. Guess he was a bit arrogant and not very easy to work for. His mother committed suicide years ago in the Deschutes. He loaned money to his brother. His father was Joe. He built several houses in Bend had the SR gas station for a while and has the OLCC license at SR country store. My friend was trying not to say bad things about him but you could tell she was biting her tounge. That's all I know.

I've actually looked into archiving the blog & its comments, into a PDF, but it typically times out. It's extremely large.

I might have to grab the whole thing manually & run it through a PDF converter, and eventually put it out in chapters by post + comments, or one huge PDF.

Given that already dozens of pages have been written about Audia, I'm quite surprised that nothing shows up.

You might want to look at your settings to make sure that you have a disable for the search algorithm.

I don't think google would have turned all comments for blogs off across the board, unless this site got on someones censor list by request.

Given that you refuse to address the issue, I can only assume that you have disabled the search engines to share the comments.

Anonymous said...

BP,

It fairly clear that you can put fucking glue into the blog that will automatically tell google to sequence the comment-block everytime an author posts. It would be trivial for HOMER to add the glue.

HOMER should remove about 500LB of shit from this blog, and just make it do the basics, JEEBUS fucking christ, I got a 10MB/sec hose, and it takes minutes to load this fucking site. All cuz of gadgets. KILL THE FUCKING GADGETS, does anyone fucking use them?

Forget about all the fucking glue for spying, everything site in homer's blog I have sub'd with 127.0.0.0, so it goes no-where.

The following site is a good place to start HOMER, I'm talking to you,

Read this shit, and learn how this stuff works, and turn off all your grade-school gadgets,

If you read the below, you'll see it only takes one 'nofollow' or 'noindex' to turn off everything. When you have all this dumb fucking glue, they tend to put shit into that state, so that the server don't get ping'd every fucking second. If your NOT SMART enough to manage your blog, then REMOVE all the DUMB-FUCKING glue, and make your site lean&mean so it works by default. WHATS A FUCKING MOTHER TO DO??

What if I don't want to be listed?

If you do not publish a site feed for your blog, it will not be included in Blog Search. However, if you previously published a site feed that was included, the old posts will remain in the index, even though new ones are not added.

Blog Search will also respect robots.txt files and NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW meta tags, as described here.

Anonymous said...

The below is from the source of homers current blog, you can see all the comments are set to NOFOLLOW, which tells search engines to ignore EVERYTHING, in fact homes WHOLE fucking blog is in this mode.

Anonymous said...

Homer, below shows how to fix your SITE, so it gets FUCKING-INDEXED. The gist is you login, and modify your default TEMPLATE, note I have removed the right-left angles as the comment block doesn't like them below, when you go to the template as described below, just remove the fucking angle block that says 'nofollow' and save, and then FINALLY YOUR FUCKING blog can be seen by the public.

***

This is an easy hack actually, and i’ve never thought to make a post about it. So thanks to some of this blog readers who has emailed me asked about how to remove the nofollow attribute on blogger or blogspot blog.

Nofollow is not a tag, it is an attribute actually. it is just kind of property of the links tag [ a href="#" rel="nofollow" ] you can read more about this nofollow attribute here if you’re interested. but now, let’s begin the hacks ;)
You can follow all the steps below, and if it works for you, would you place our link on your blogroll? nah.. just kidding. place our link on your blogroll if you think this site is useful. if not, just forget it! :)
SO, here is the step:
1. Login to your Blogger account of course.
2. Go to your HTML Editor on your blogger dashboard.
3. Tick the Expand Widget Template
4. Find this code below:

a expr:href='data:comment.authorUrl' rel='nofollow'data:comment.author//a

You can just simply CTRL+F and paste the code above to the search box if you use Firefox. don’t have Firefox yet? get it here.
5. Remove the rel=’nofollow’ attribute. so it becomes like this

a expr:href='data:comment.authorUrl' data:comment.author

6. Save your template
7. refresh your blog and DOne!

Anonymous said...

BP, you might want to check your site too, and see if your template didn't get set by default to this 'nofollow' mode for JR, and other's listening, sometimes google does this shit, and doesn't tell people.

I'm not even sure when this stuff started disappearing.

Anonymous said...

Duncan,

You too your site is doing this also, all your posts, and comments are disabled, you'll need to go to your template, and fix it so the world can see what your write and the comments.

What they're doing here is blocking all this stuff from the search engines by default.

Real fucking stupid, sort like writing a book, and then burning it so nobody can see it, whatever.

Obviously google knows that people 'blog' to create content, that is never to be seen ever again or found.

Anonymous said...

Everyone, all the bloggers, here's how to enable the comments and blogs to the search engines.

***

1. Login to your Blogger account of course.
( click on layout, inside of the dashboard mode, then ... YOU MUST BE LOGGED on to the same account that originally created that blog )

2. Go to your HTML Editor on your blogger dashboard.
3. Tick the Expand Widget Template
4. Find this code below:

a expr:href='data:comment.authorUrl' rel='nofollow' data:comment.a

REMOVE ALL instance of "rel='nofollow'" there are two instances.

Note the angle bracket's aren't shown, be sure to not fuck up the open/close balance.

You can always click 'reset to default' template, if you fuckup and do over, don't forget to save, after you have removed the "rel='nofollow'" both cases.

Anonymous said...

Well I put a 'google blogspot ping' on homer site, and now the blogspot-search is finding homers site.

I'm just doing this cuz 'mike' asks, and I went to search and noted nothing came up.

Now at least when you type 'bend oregon audia' homes site comes up, the comments don't as homer needs to fix his layout templates per above.

Once you modify your site HOMER ( or anybody else ) then when you change the template, then go back and edit the post, but don't change anything or maybe add a space, and that way the template will get applied.

Most of the new stuff will not get put into search engines until a new post is created and uses the template.

NOTE ALSO FUCKING HOMER, and YOU OTHER CUNTS, put the automatic PING shit into your template, so that google is notified everytime a comment is posted, and this will update the global search engine.

I have described how to add this glue earlier, if anybody isn't clear on how to do this ask.

Just cuz you write a post, doesn't mean google will index your post. Just because you write a comment doesn't mean google will index the comment, you must tell them manually with a 'ping' or add the ping glue to your template.

Here's the gist I have noticed, follow up users permitted accounts for a blogsite don't show the 'layout' tab, thus you NEED to be FUCKING SURE of the original account 'name' you used when you created this fucking blog, otherwise you'll NEVER be given the 'layout tab'.

If my convoluted directions are unclear, cuz I refuse to edit my text. Could someone else here try in MORE simple english explain to homer?

FYI dunc, BP, it appears that you too need to take care of this. Perhaps IF YOU do it, and understand then you can tell homer how to do it.

Again, I'll say this ONE MORE TIME, the most common problem with getting to the layout-tab, is that you must LOGON with the same account-name you used to create the blog originally.

LASTLY, put the fucking GLUE in the template, so that you have automatic blog-pinging to google every time someone touches your site. This doesn't pass their info, it just tells google engine to read and re-cache YOUR SITE NOW.

"60+ on the Parkway is way too fast."

No, the Parkway was engineered to be driven at 55 mph. The 45 mph limit was imposed by ODOT after people raised hell about 55 mph. The problem is people pay no attention to posted speed limits -- they tend to drive as fast as the traffic, the design of the road and weather conditions will allow (or a little faster). This isn't a "Cali-banger" thing, it's a "human being" thing.

Reed Market down by the river where the "log deck" used to be was engineered for 25 mph -- narrow, with curves and roundabouts -- and as a rule that's about how fast people drive it. If you want people to go slow, build a road that won't let them go fast.

BTW I picture Marge as a blue-haired little old lady in a Toyota Camry, puttering along the Parkway at 30 mph as she grips the steering wheel like grim death.

I suspect that there is a time-out issue, as the browser isn't smart enough to know that 127.0.0.0 means don't waste your fucking time, it probably really looks for the spybots at 'home'.

Right now there are over 30 sites in my 'locale' to map all of homers spybots to NULL.

No, the Parkway was engineered to be driven at 55 mph.

*

Go to the city-court house some day, and sit and listen, virtually every fucking ticket is cuz some asshole was going 85mph on the pkwy, and judge over & over repeats to them that the posted speed limit of 45mph, really means what it says.

Just like the fucking city streets in BEND, its all 25mph, and some downtown 20mph, yet most go 50mph past my house. A few years ago there was a guy down the streets that would throw rocks at the dump trucks flying down the street, thankfully knife-river has less work to do these days.

PEOPLE IN BEND don't read, and don't fucking care. BUT its amazing to see them fucking CRY at the court-house, the trouble is the 80mph ticket is like $100, yet its $500 for a god swimming in the river without a leash.

It's a tourism thing, they don't want to fuck the tourist into staying away so they make the tickets for speeding in BEND cheap.

If your a local the second+ will cost you dearly.

FUCK IS FUCKED.

http://blogsearch.google.com/ping

Now homer remember to frequently click on your blogs, and the comments will show up on the bottom.

In that mode cut&paste the URL, and then send it to the site above, that will cause google to re-cache your site.

Anonymous said...

http://www.google.com/addurl/

HOMER one last thing frequently use the above site and put in the URL of the current blog, so that the MAIN google engine will cache your site, that way people who use regular google can find you, the ping-google, is only for the blogspot search engine, which I'm sure most people are too stoopid to use, you need to do both.

NOTE because of SPAM its best to this all manually, as google is trying to elminate spam, they don't want their search engines processing shit, the ADD-URL above requires security graphics so it can verify non-spam to process.

MY BET is why the NOFOLLOW is on your site, is someone in BEND PR/MARKETING told GOOGLE this was a SPAM site, and it got marked as spam, and the way they do it cuz its all SPAM-ROBOTS creating bullshit free-blogs is they map the default to 'no-cache' / 'no-follow'.

You got to stay on top of this stuff, cuz there are tons of interests in BEND that want this SHIT to be invisible.

Frequently view your source of your blog, and make sure there are no bullshit states like 'nofollow' you can used the editor in HTML mode to see all the HTML, then cut&paste it into an editor and MAP out all the 'rel=nofollow' to NULL, then go put the HTML back in, this can be a pain, but often its the only way to force your shit to be visible to the world.

Just ONE MORE fucking example of excessive - political correctness.

I personally think that these cali's doing 80mph on the pkwy are far more dangerous to 'public-safety' than GAWD's w/o leashes in the water, or fat fucking lazy bloggers that have to park in handicap, ...

It's just fucking political-correctness BP, there is no other rhyme or reason.

Homer,

I was thinking that you need to have a blog called 'bend-bubble-comments', that is just a stream of the prior weeks comments as its own blog. It would be easy to do, then the comments would show up as high level HTML rather than be buried.

It's just that in a few years if researchers want to come back and study the demise of Bend before it became a ghost town, it is essential this stuff be available.

Cultural anthropologists will be very thankfull, as I can see in the future folks will be writing books for years called "Who would have guessed".

BP my fucking GAWD. Note ALL the usage of 'pussy' is for naive liberals, we only have two, all others are curmudgen-al cunts.

Dear BP, HOLLERN owns huge blocks ALL around the PERIMETER of JR, the WHOLE fucking thing with USING city money ( $800k/acre excavation - LS Shovel Ready - Secret Contract ) was to make the surrounding HOLLERN land more valuable.

PUSSY-ABERNETHY is handing the strategy to you on a fucking plate and you don't see it? I guess its a pussy thing, good think only you & tim are our only pussy.

Lastly, all should note that like this blog, MOST in BEND are cunts, and NOT pussy's.

It's this kind of thing that makes me think ...

1.) BP is the stoopid shit eating liberal pussy ever born, had he been a lamb or fawn, he would have gotten eaten day-one.

2.) He's on HOLLERN's payroll, to distract cunts.

3.) BP has a two digit IQ, and are really means all the dumb fucking things he says.

CHOMSKY calls this 'manufacturing consent' where liberal-pussy creates a problem, and in sweeps the right-wing money powers with a solution.

Just what we need right HOMER? More large lots surrounding JR, so we can have MORE 'SHIRES', build and they'll come.

Our own pussy has created the liberal need, and soon LORD-HOLLERN will fulfill that want.

Set-asides for large 100+ acre plots for STD tracts, Homer is that really what will fix the bend-bubble?

JR is fucking DEAD, we can't borrow $800k/acre anymore to excavate, BP let this horse die.

BP why don't you go out today or tomorrow to JR, and take pic's of the new completed LS-CAMPUSSY?? and post that so we have something to look at for where our $16M went??

Please do something useful.

Obama proposes $1,000 emergency rebate checks

By MIKE GLOVER – 1 hour ago

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Friday pushed for a windfall profits tax to fund $1,000 emergency rebate checks for consumers besieged by high energy costs, a counter to Republican rival John McCain's call for more offshore drilling in coastal states like Florida.

BTW, one of the things I do is act as the Precinct Chairperson for Precinct 25. Only 38 more Dem voters and we outnumber the Repubs. I can guarantee you that will happen by the end of the month.

And Ron Paul is an idiot. Although once in a while he says the truth, like in the video about the FM's bailout, he couldn't even get 5% of the Repug votes. He's got enough cash from all you suckers that he should be able to keep his House seat, though. Maybe...

Speaking of robbing people, check out this gem from patrick.net:

upsetinVA wrote:

Open letter to Joe, Okay, so you were right! I thought you'd lost your mind
when you sold your modest house next door in 2005 and bought a $1.2M mcmansion,
with no money down. I thought you were crazy when you used the proceeds from
the sale of your house to go to Europe, buy two expensive vehicles, new
furniture and put in a swimming pool in your new house. In the meantime, my
wife and I pinched our pennies, socking money away in our 401Ks, saving for a
vacation and continued to drive our ancient cars. I felt vindicated when the
real estate market collapsed and your mcmansion fell in "value" to
$800K and the interest rate on your ARM went up to 10%, while my fixed rate
stayed at 6%.

My, how the tide has turned! Thanks to our elected officials, I will be helping
you keep your mcmansion with the granite countertops and all the other
trappings of wealth. You'll get a reduction on the principle of your
mortgage and a lowered interest rate. The only way my mortgage principle will
go lower is if I pay it down; and, of course, interest rates have gone up so I
can't refinance for a lower fixed rate. By the way, your old house went
into foreclosure last month. I don't think the folks who bought it at that
inflated price ever meant to live in it and when they couldn't find a
renter to cover the cost of the mortgage, they decided to let it go back to the
bank. Of course, that meant the value of my house dropped quite a bit more.
Don't worry though -- Since we've been diligently paying down the principle
on our house, we still have some equity left.

I sure do wish I could get the principle on my house magically reduced and
(prayer) a lower interest rate too! That would give me some financial relief
-- paying for my daughter's college tuition and health insurance would
certainly be easier. (She turned 22 this past May, so I've had to pick up
the tab for her health care.) Since I didn't overspend, can afford my
mortgage and saved my money, I won't qualify for those "breaks" my
tax dollars will be funding.

Speaking of those tax dollars, I've been writing letters to our elected
representatives to fund new roads and rebuild our crumbling infrastructure.
Have you seen the cost of college tuition lately? How about health care, the
cost of food and I don't want to even think about gas prices! Too bad our
tax dollars will be paying for your mcmansion. If projects to help the rest of
us are to be funded, our elected officials will have to raise our taxes, and
frankly, I'm just not "feeling" a tax increase. Our elected officials have
mismanaged too much of my hard earned money, already.

In addition to giving you breaks on your mcmansion, I did hear that the new
Foreclosure Prevention Bill will "put a floor on the price of housing".
I guess my son, who just recently graduated from college, won't be able to
buy a house after all. He's staying at home with us and saving his money.
We'd hoped that house prices would continue to deflate, reaching a level
commiserate with incomes in this area. He's making a nice salary, but still
can't afford the prices. Yes, I do understand that first time homebuyers
will get up to $7500 in breaks, but read the fine print, besides that small
amount won't even cover closing costs.

Well, Joe, I just wanted to let you know you were right! I was dumb for playing
by the rules, saving my money and max'ing out on my 401K. I should have
taken your lead, purchased a mcmansion and spent every penny I earned. Think of
all the fun I could have had! Nice cars, granite countertops, furniture,
clothes, vacations...wow...and, the "government" picking up the tab.
I can't wait for the next bubble. YOU ARE THE MAN!

Central Ore. couple facing foreclosure commits suicide

Associated Press

PRINEVILLE, Ore. -- Raymond and Deanna Donaca had fought foreclosure on their home and lost, but had dropped strong hints they wouldn't leave the three-level dwelling alive.

On Tuesday, Crook County sheriff's deputies went to the home east of Prineville after neighbors called with concerns that they were not answering their door, and their dogs were missing.

They walked up the driveway and smelled gas. Inside the attached locked garage, a 1981 Cadillac Eldorado sat empty, its engine running.

Then they entered the house.

They found the bodies of Raymond Donaca, 71, and three golden retrievers. Upstairs they discovered the bodies of Deanna Donaca, 69, and a fourth dog.

CUNTS I mean this in a BIG way, I have been in this town for 40+ years, and years ago they were putting out hits on people, when the big boyz back east started losing the RE-POOL money.

It's like the anthrax guy, look closely on this 'suicide' thing. I mean guys jumping into waterfalls, blowing their brains out in Bed, while their girlfriend doesn't notice, the entire pattern of ignoring the event, keeps everybody off the subject. There is no investigative journalism in Central-Oregon.

The only hope would be Phil Stanford of Portland, who loves this shit.

Well what do you expect the town is RAN by the BOSS-HOGG, the BULL&SORE are RAN by the BOSS-HOGG.

In whose interest is any of this?

Just sit on it for months or years, and then the Oregonian will revisit it when its long been over.

A more interesting thing would be the insurance angle, especially in these cases of accidental death. Quite often on these BIG RE-POOL deals the mob takes out insurance policy's, in event of loss of money, your-out, and they collect. It's always been the honorable thing to do.

It would be interesting if we could find out if DR. SHIRE who accidentally took a swim down Benham Falls, had lots of insurance by third partys??

They were visiting Bend for the day, and had the four dogs in the car. They decided to take the dogs for a swim, but old T.Brown was hiding in the bushes at Drake Park, and nailed them.

$500/per dog, $2,000, they went home and did the deed, that pushed, them and the dogs over the edge.

Then you really don't know, they died of CO poisoning, but did they really kill themselves? Would they have really desired to kill their dogs? A good home is hard to find.

Why did they kill the dogs? Perhaps the dogs saw the real killers?

Sewer expansion nears finish
Oregon Water Wonderland residents applaud new wastewater connection
By Lily Raff / The Bulletin
Published: July 30. 2008 4:00AM PST

After months of waiting, Lucille Ricketts finally got to flush the toilet in her new home on Jan. 23.

Her house on Sandpiper Road, near Sunriver, was the first one connected to a recently expanded sewer system that serves a rural subdivision in southern Deschutes County.

"Everything works," she said, laughing, later in the week.

An expanded sewer system and upgraded wastewater treatment facility has been in the works for almost nine years in Oregon Water Wonderland Unit 2, an eclectic, rural subdivision about 20 miles south of Bend.

The expanded sewer system could replace the septic tanks currently used by about 300 homes in the subdivision. And it will likely spur a building boom on several hundred undeveloped lots.

The area's shallow groundwater - about two feet below the earth's surface in most of the subdivision, according to the U.S. Geological Survey - is particularly susceptible to contamination from leaking septic tanks.

The subdivision is a special tax district that pays for a sewer system and wastewater treatment facility first installed in 1983.

Until Monday, only about one-third of the subdivision's 1,006 lots were connected to the sewer. But the district has nearly completed an $8.5 million expansion project that will make the sewer system available to every lot in the neighborhood.

By this time next year, about 400 or so homes will have been connected to the system, said Erv Remmele, president of the district's board of directors.

Until now, home construction was prohibited on a couple hundred of those lots because they are too close to the river - or have groundwater that is too shallow - for an on-site septic system.

"That's what this (expansion) is going to relieve," said Jayne West, a water quality permit specialist for the state Department of Environmental Quality. "Those folks that were denied permits for septic systems, now they can just hook up to the new wastewater treatment facility, instead."

Residents of Oregon Water Wonderland have expressed mixed feelings about the growth they expect now that sewer connections are readily available.

But officials said the expansion was necessary.

The district's wastewater treatment facility had been operating at its maximum capacity for several years, West said.

The district was never in violation of its permit, West said, but it needed to upgrade before it could accommodate waste from additional homes.

Material collected in the sewer system is pumped into storage lagoons, where the waste and water are treated. Once the wastewater has been sufficiently disinfected, it is pumped through irrigation pipes onto a crop field. The crops consume the water and its remaining nutrients.

Remmele said the district had outgrown its old lagoons and crop fields. He said the district was applying wastewater to four acres of ground when it should have been spreading that amount over about 25 acres.

Fecal coliform - a group of bacteria found in feces - was regularly detected in wells that monitored the old treatment plant's effect on groundwater.

So the district acquired 480 acres of land from the Deschutes National Forest to accommodate new sewage treatment facilities. That land is surrounded by private land and had been identified by the U.S. Forest Service for disposal.

A new, larger treatment facility was built there over the past year. It includes larger storage lagoons and about 100 acres of fields to irrigate. Overall, the new facility has more than five times the capacity of the old wastewater treatment plant.

A little more than half of costs for the project - estimated to reach about $8.5 million - will be covered by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The rest of the expansion is being funded by a bond approved by the district's voters in 2000.

Homer,

Do you think we'll ever run out of blogger fodder in this town?

Two recurring subjects are always shit, and suicide.

It's hard to know where to put the time,

BP,

We try to make 'sense' out of BEND, thus the 400+ posts every week.

It takes village to raise a child, and a ton of fools to make sense of Bend, Oregon.

The BULL&SORE, via LORD-HOLLERN have created a very 'Shire' like picture 'post-card' perfect View of Our Little "Oregon Sewage World" Bend. A very fictional world.

Where else in Bend, is there a single blog-site that even attempts to make sense out of the 'True' Bend??

BP,

Your going to love this, I went back digging around on when this 'nofollow' got slapped on the Bend muckracker sites, and it was a little before noon on April 2, 2008.

It appears right after you did that Post about Brooks/Hollern, OWNING the BULL with PICTURES, that somebody put in a formal complaint to google/blogspot about these horrible SPAM sites, that effectively put everything thereafter out of google/blog search engines.

We're going to have to watch for these 'attributes' to pop back in very closely.

Now that all the sites are back on live to the world, I would expect something new to reappear very shortly. Keep checking the source often for strange 'attributes' in the HTML, and keep making sure that the HTML-TEMPLATES isn't modified to this post April-08 mode.

What I found was that your first comment on that subject had no 'nofollow', then it appears, for the hell of I added a comment, and sure enough now there isn't one, per your comment that you did the fix. The only CUNT that still hasn't done the fix is DUNCAN, maybe you can stop by his shop, and do it for him, I think he may be afraid of HTML.

I think it would be very hard to prove, but this I do know.

That in April of 08, it was done to your, mine, this, and dunc's site.

It was not done to any PDX site.

I think MORE interesting, would be that patrick.net do a report, and we find out from other micro-bubble community's if they have been black-out from the NET??

So what we do know at this time.

1) Somebody told GOOGLE that we in BEND were SPAM, SPAM is the reason for this technology.

2.) They haven't been doing it to the PDX RE bloggers, who are every bit as vulgar, non-pc, and truthful as us,

3.) That is appears to have been enable here shortly before noon April 2, 2008, when you posted the pic's of the BULL-BROOKS building, and pointed out that the BULL paid HOLLERN zero for that land in 1998. Note I think it was me that brought that to you in this forum, and you quickly took a picture and put the issue on your site.

At this time, all we can do is watch the comment source like a hawk, and make sure that someone at google is not told to black-us out again by default.

NOTICE for the record, this is why MICROSOFT, GOOGLE, ... have all not been sued bigtime, ... like everyone else, like TELCO's GOOGLE has glue to turn anybody off at anytime per government request all in the name of SPAM. It just takes a government official to ask, with no court order, and google is covered because they can say it was spam.

The problem of course in the principal of free speech, one mans spam, is another mans HAM.

It's a NATIONAL-SECURITY issue, so its very touching that you can bring up an issue that the BULL is owned by HOLLERN with pic's and shortly thereafter home-land-security calls google, who blacks you out. Then again, HOLLERN was a major supporter of the BUSH-TRIBE,

tim said...

From what I've read after a cursory search, the "nofollow" tag is on by default. I assume that that policy is for new blogs. Perhaps Google flags older blogs for the same treatment upon complaint.

Just got back from the shooting range and was actually going to post stats today. Here they are.
July 08 99 Sold @ $284k median
June 08 114 sold @ $315k median
July 07 112 sold @ $342k median

And Tom Green was trying to tell the buyers to hurry and buy since prices went from $396k to $270k are back up to $315k. Guess there is still time to wait for the REAL bottom. Next spring ??? $200k

tim said...

From Clive's site, it looks as if our inventory peak has passed. Selling season is over (that that it even bothered to show up this year).

I predict a zillion rentals newly available starting next week.

Anonymous said...

Here's a new stat.
50 of the 99 sales were vacant while on the market.
514 of the 1600+ active listings are vacant. Yowser!!
4 of the 99 sold broke the $100 ppf.

tim said...

So that means 10 months of vacant inventory and 33 months of occupied inventory.

I'm guessing the occupied houses are priced way too high.

From what I've seen lately, houses at $400k should be at $300k. Houses at $600k should be at $400k.

That's roughly speaking. Individual cases vary.

I'm seeing stuff bought at $290k in 2006 being priced at $400k. Get real, people. Or you won't sell.

Anonymous said...

Rightyooo Tim Boy!

I have seen homes that started @ $840k and sell for $590k. But MLS stats show sales at 96.5% of ask. Well that is the last ask not the first. I never kept track of stats but my feeling is if a house has been unsold for 1.5 years they have slashed 40% now in a desperate effort to sell. Those are the ones that have enough equity to do that. The rest are walking. When we finally get to the correct median around $200k that will be a 40+% haircut.

Yes, timmy twat, april 2, 2008, right before noon, right after BP posted his story and pics about HOLLERN/BROOKS owning the BULL property, suddenly that point forward all of BP's comments were tagged 'nofollow'. Before that nada, and after that continuous until BP fixed it a few days ago.

Anonymous said...

Clint,

Your partially censored clint. At least they're not blacking-out individual comment content, but they are blacking out the backlink to your main blog.

If you post your email or an anonymous email, I can tell you how to remove the 'nofollow'.

Basically you logon as the account creator, and click on layout, then html-edit, then enable the button 'expand widget template', and find all strings that say "rel='nofollow'", you should remove all those strings, so that all google engines can cache all your hard work, and real people using google or any search engine can find info about pdx RE. In the worst case there are only two usages of 'nofollow' on comments and backlinks. You also need to verify that your mainblog has no 'funny' attributes.

The 'nofollow' tells search engines to read the html because it spam. We have found in BEND that effective in April 08, that most of the RE blogs had all their default templates for comments changed to 'nofollow' so that all comments became effectively 'blacked-out' from the world.

In your case ONLY the back-link has been blacked-out. Since non of your site contains SPAM, there is NO reason whatsoever for your site being treated as such.

Political and/or Real Estate interests can selectively complain to google about 'spam', and have sites black-out. Thus you need to stay on to of this stuff.

This week its 'nofollow' attribute, in the future it could be something else. Stay on top of the internal HTML for your blog & comments, and verify that google on the behalf of 'interests' haven't blacked out your site.

Whenever you view the web whether its the blog, or the comment pane, you can use the 'view/source' pull-down and see the HTML. For now you can just 'find' 'nofollow' to determine if you have the anti-spam glue enabled. My feeling is that once we have removed these 'black-outs' that other new glue will appear, thus we need to stay on top of this issue, as their is no point of writing blogs, and comments. If all the content is not visible to all the worlds search engines. What this in effect does is make ALL this stuff invisible ( blacked out ) to the outside world.

I just talked with a friend that got back from France last night, and she told me that the banks are no longer accepting large quantities of USA CASH, because the money is unstable. I think there are lots of powers, that don't want people over-seas and out of state to know about whats really going on. Thus google is marking stuff as spam, on the behalf of the powers of interest.

Most interesting to her because she is a highly educated women, and surprising to me, was that the 'cash' would not even be accepted by the 'post office', in France the PO acts as the bank, you can get change, ... Same thing, and NOT this was just a week ago. "Because of the un-stability of the US dollar, we're no long accepting it".

That is some heavy shit cunts.

The story basically evolved is that a B&B she was staying at had accepted about $2,000 in USD for payment, and they were having trouble at the local bank get it converted to EURO, she had taken a liking to the owner, and spent the day being from the US decided she could help getting it converted, and nobody would take the US CASH.

Finally towards the end of the day, they went back to the home bank of the B&B proprieter and they took the money on condition she ( the owner ) was a good customer, and that she would never bring the USD again to the bank.

Very heavy SHEEET, not credit-cards over there are instantly converted to EURO when you buy something, thus they're getting paid in EURO.

This reminds me back in the days of traveling when nobody wanted TURKISH LIRA, outside of turkey.

Oil, the Dollar and the Media
August 3, 2008

By Sylvia L. Mayuga

“Probably the best advice you can give any government today is to be more transparent. That applies as much to my government as it does to yours,” was how former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani put it to Filipino officials and corporate VIPs at the Makati Shangri-La hotel last July 29.

But how transparent can a badly shaken American superpower be? And how much transparency can an equally shaken world expect from large chunks of the US media turning opaque in media conglomerates too deeply invested to rock a world-straddling ship of state?

I’d say about as much as sunless ocean depths on the trail back to Bretton Woods in 1945, when the US dollar replaced gold as global legal tender. In the half century after that postwar arrangement tantamount to an economic coup, the dollar grew in such strength that the US trade deficit and a matching national debt steadily added up to today’s hyperbolic trillions, now a major feature of the world economy.

Things had become even livelier for America after the first global oil shock in 1973, when it made an offer of military protection to the repressive Saudi Arabian government if it made the US dollar the sole currency for oil purchase, with the rest of OPEC following suit. Not only did that birth of the petrodollar progressively tie the world economy to America’s currency. It also began a new drama starring a glut of petrodollars hunting for investments in Third World countries.

A former World Bank loan officer close to Malacañang in the ‘70s once told me about a crisis of conscience that turned his life around, after his successful offers of long-term petrodollar loans to finance “development” under martial law. Indeed, those dollar loans would make countries like ours writhe in agonies of repayment in the succeeding decades. In that terrible tension of hegemonic, oil- and dollar-based pirate economics would be born the global outcry for “sustainable development” a.k.a. “development as if people mattered.”

The battle goes on today – as oil runs out and the US dollar steadily loses value, together driving the price of fuel, and survival itself, through the roof. Today a woebegone global economic system arrives at the point of asphyxiation. Where we do we go from here? There’s no helpful answer without the counsel of more history.

Middle Eastern oilfields and the institution of the petrodollar take us to the heart of British and American foreign policy in the region, as opaque to the world in the crisis-ridden ‘70s as it’s been in today’s “war on terror.” Last May an article in the Executive Intelligence Review recalled highlights of that decade that the author calls “hoax” oil shortages. The media did not even question those supposed “oil crises,” he adds, instead trumpeting the oil cartel line.

Here are some insider memories: “The Arab-Israeli Yom Kippur War in 1973 led to an Arab boycott of Britain and the U.S.A., which, at least nominally, led to the suspension of Arab oil sales to those countries. As a flank on the boycott, a ‘spot market’ was set up in Rotterdam whereby Arabian oil could be sold to buyers from the blacklisted companies — at a substantial markup in price, of course. This spot market was the beginning of today's highly destructive and manipulated oil market. The price of oil jumped from $3.50 a barrel before the war to $10 a barrel at the beginning of the following year.

“…Like the 1973/74 event, the 1979 oil crisis was a hoax, designed to expand the role of the spot market as a way of jacking up the price of oil. In the US, we were inundated with the idea that oil was in short supply, creating serious shortages of gasoline. The TV broadcasts showed videos of long lines at the gas pumps, but it soon became apparent to careful viewers that the locations were changing every week, that the oil companies were putting on a traveling roadshow.

“This author, then in Houston and working for Shell, remembers how there were no shortages in Houston until the roadshow came to town—it was our week to be on the news—and then the show moved on, and things returned to normal. At about the same time, a local reporter interviewed the chief of the Shell refinery, who said that his refinery had all the oil it could process, and had tankers waiting in line to unload. The shortage was manipulated, a complete hoax.”

This article is worth reading whole as its author joins other sources of insufficiently known vital information. Their quotes in my previous column are from carefully footnoted articles – long but worth the time of those who prefer painful truth to blissful ignorance.

Here are links to the scholars Cóilín Nunan and Dr. Krassimir Petrov, jointly painting a big picture of a dying world order. Note how such insights and information are more easily available to far corners of the globe on the Web – evidence of a qualitative difference in transparency between traditional media and the Internet.

Things have come to such a pass that paying much closer attention to oil and the US dollar, war and American foreign policy is crucial, especially as truth comes under increasing threat in media-soaked America. Take note, Little Brown Brother Filipinos still swallowing the White House line on the “war on terror” purveyed by Fox News.

Can anyone still afford to live with lies? Our global oil-cum-dollar-cum food-cum environmental crisis defies solution without radical changes in how we live, starting with what and how we perceive, what and whom we choose to believe.

Rounding out a big picture alternative to Bush-Cheney geopolitics is the information security analyst William Clark, a modern patriot in the opposing stream of history that goes back to America’s Founding Fathers. Clark’s close-ups on media choices of what to tell – and not to tell – the world also redound to a warning about strategic “news” according to CNN, Fox News and Murdoch’s empire, and the rest of America‘s media conglomerates.

William Clark wrote “The Real Reasons for the Upcoming War with Iraq” as that war was gaining momentum in January 2003. Why it was that not enough Americans and members of the “coalition of the willing” were roused to protest then is now as much a political history of regret as a shameful chapter in American media annals.

Clark’s two main points update the story to today’s headlines: “Although completely unreported by the U.S. media and government, the answer to the Iraq enigma is simple yet shocking -- it is in large part an oil currency war. One of the core reasons for this upcoming war is this administration's goal of preventing further Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) momentum towards the euro as an oil transaction currency standard.

“However, in order to pre-empt OPEC, they need to gain geo-strategic control of Iraq along with its 2nd largest proven oil reserves. The second coalescing factor that is driving the Iraq war is the quiet acknowledgement by respected oil geologists and possibly this administration is the impending phenomenon known as Global ‘Peak Oil.’ This is projected to occur around 2010, with Iraq and Saudi Arabia being the final two nations to reach peak oil production.”

There’s more on Peak Oil in the whole article. William Clark is not alone. Another American, Robert Freeman, complements everyone’s hard facts with an appeal to truth and far older ideals in “Will the End of Oil Mean the End of America?” It’s even more eloquent four years after it was written. More, it has practical prescriptions for us all. Click here.

So a little review,

1) Peak-Oil 2004
2.) Arab/Israel War 1973
3.) Bretton-Woods 1945

You think this is what Rudy Giuliani meant by “transparent”?

Delay into the WWII, and the creation of the NUKE, made USA the most powerful criminal nation on earth, unseen since the times of Rome, via Bretton-Woods, the declaration went out "ALL the WORLD SHALL USE the US-DOLLAR". Same time in 1945, USA creates ISRAEL, a proxy slut to manage US interests in the middle-east to control the 'OIL PRIZE".

By 1973, things get un-comfortable and US supply's proxy with high-tech weapons, to send arabs back into the dark ages. Arab world anger reaches boiling point by 2001.

2004 peak-oil has passed, and OIL will only become more expensive. Bush-Tribe invades IRAQ in attempt to control the OIL-WORLD, and thus prop the US dollar, the mission fails, the dollar collapses. Oil in terms of US dollars sky-rockets. Hyper-Inflation in the USA.

The world refuses to accept US dollars, and the US becomes impotent, the US has nothing the world wants, and refuses to accept worthless US paper dollars. The US comes to a halt, without fuel, and food.

Like a wounded animal, with claws intact, the US re-attempts to assert world dominion, by declaring the entire Arab world "Terrorist", and making a last chance grab on the known oil stocks in the world in Iran, and Saudia-Arabia.

The Japanese/Chinese refuse to finance the US war machine for incursions into the Arab oil world. The US hyper-inflates its currency to pay for wars.

Bend, Oregon becomes a paradise, to hide from world insanity, albeit growing your own food in green-houses, carrying polluted water from the dry deschutes river, and guarding your solar panels with M-16's.
